Brief Personal Profile Of
HON. EFREN QUIZO JAMOLOD
A strong advocate of grass root
development, Hon. Efren Quizo Jamolod espouses the
dictum – “Ang matuod nga kalamboan sa barangay ang
sinugdan (True sustainable development emanates from
the barangay).”
Heeding a popular request, Hon. Efren
Q. Jamolod started his political career after winning
the in the May 9, 1994 Barangay Election as the Punong
Barangay of Talisay, Dapitan City. he got reelected to
the same position in both the May 12, 197 and July 15,
2002 Synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan
Elections.
Undefeated in his barangay, he
champions the cause of the common “tao” especially the
marginal fisher folks. He manifested his love through
his various projects for the upliftment of the quality
of life of his barangay constituents. Due to his
desire of serving the Dapitanons, he casted his lot in
the city level political arena in the May 10, 2004
Election and won a seat in the Sangguniang Panlungsod
of Dapitan.
Presently, he chairs the Committee on
Public Works and Infrastructure in the august body.
His membership is in the following: Committee on
Appropriations, Committee on Agriculture, Natural
Resources and Environment, Committee on Barangay
Affairs and Community Development, Committee on
Science and Technology and in the Sub-Committee on
Accreditation – under the Committee on Rules.
Born on April 27, 1950 and a true
Dapitanon, Hon Efren Q. Jamolod is the fourth child of
the brood of 14 of the late Idelfonso Sazon Jamolod
and Josefa Gallemit Quizo.
He spent his elementary years in
Dapitan Central School and in the Rizal Memorial
Institute for his secondary education. He graduated
his degree of Associate in Nautical Science at the
Cebu Central Colleges (now University of Cebu) in
1972.
He is blessed to be married with Merlyn
Meninguito Casballas of Jimenez, Misamis Occidental
and this union is gifted with seven children. He
presently resides in Barangay Talisay, home to the
renowned Rizal Shrine of Dapitan City. |
