MISSION AND VISION

   
LONG-TERM VISION:  
DAPITAN CITY will be progressive as the Dr. Jose P. Rizal Heritage Center and Eco-tourism Paradise of Southern Philippines  
   
SECTORAL VISION:  
  
Economic:  
Full   development   and   an   enhanced   
competitive   position  of Dapitan City as a major eco-tourism destination in Region IX so that by Year 2020 the City shall be able to have an increased share of the regional foreign tourist arrivals by 50% from East Asia and Europe;  25% from North America and Oceania and 20% from the Asean countries and a maximized local tourist arrivals.  
  
Maximized productivity in agriculture and fishery so that by Year 2020 volume of production shall exceed at least 20% of the population requirements.  
  
Social: 
By  Year  2020,  a  better quality of life of the Dapitanon shall have been attained through an improved delivery of basic services more than the minimum basic needs.  
   
Also, that the Rizalian values of integrity, honesty and resourcefulness shall have been promoted and preserved.  
    
Institutional:
By  Year 2020,  the City  shall  have an efficient and effective governance.
   
Environment:
By Year  2020,  the City shall   have established a sustainable ecological balance.
    
The immediate vision of the City is the NEW DAPITAN, which is an acronym for the development thrusts of the present dispensation, viz:
