MABUHAY!

“Dapitan” comes from the word dapit which means to invite or to welcome.

This inviting and welcoming City of Dapitan is a promise…a haven to those who seeks peace and serenity with its scenic spectacle, both natural and man-made as the City is bursting with incomparable God and Man-made designs; a living historical artefact to the raiders and lovers of the past with the remnants of Dr. Jose Rizal’s four-year stay in Dapitan; and cultural celebration to the indulgers of gaiety and fiesta with the Kinabayo Festival.

For me, and for most proud Dapitanons like me, this city where I belong is a cherished home…a home which cuddles all our little aspirations until we become the embodiment of all our dreams and a home which secures our safety and protection even from womb until tomb.

It has long been my dream to share this home to others and this opportunity to unveil our pride through the Internet fills me with so much hope and enthusiasm knowing that this City will be met with so much appreciation from the Internet-browsers. With this note and as the City Vice-Mayor of Dapitan City, I welcome you all to my home, “THE SHRINE CITY OF DAPITAN”.
